Deadlines, dates for your diaries and details of initiatives that may interest you: a news roundup from the PRME Chapter UK and Ireland
Chapter Conference and Doctoral Colloquium – 27 to 29 June 2022
It’s less than 6 weeks to go now until our 2022 Doctoral Colloquium and Annual Conference – both being hosted by the University of Hull. Details about delegate registration, accommodation offers and conference themes can be found here. We’re much looking forward to this long-delayed gathering of the Ireland and UK PRME community and very much hope you will be able to join us. Delegate and accommodation fees are modest to encourage maximum participation.
Elections for new Chapter Steering Committee Members
As recently announced, there are vacancies for 5 places on the Steering Committee from July 2022 onwards. If you missed the details, they are here. Deadline for receipt of nominations is Friday 3 June.
2022 Virtual PRME Global Forum – 3 June 2022
June is, as always, a busy month in the PRME calendar. Friday 3 June is also the date for your diary for the Virtual PRME Global Forum. Yes, we know this is a public holiday in the UK but the Platinum Jubilee was somehow not on the minds of those who set the date! The Global Forum spans multiple time zones and offers an East and West programme – full details with timings are available once you have registered. Delegate registration is now open here.
PRME Global is once again recognising, at the Global Forum, faculty achievements in integrating the SDGs into business school. It is open to anyone to submit nominations for faculty who have done inspiring and impactful work on the SDGs in the period January 2021 to April 2022 and that exemplifies one or more of the six PRME Principles. Find out more about the Awards here and submit your nomination by email to globalforum@unprme.org
This year, we mark 15 years of PRME as a global initiative. PRME Global is looking to celebrate the diverse set of stakeholders who are dedicated to Responsible Management Education in different ways. To do that you are invited to send in a short video reflection to be featured at the 2022 Virtual PRME Global Forum on 3 June. Click here for more details on how to participate. The official deadline is 18 May but we are sure that if you email PRME Global a few days extra will be allowed.
Thanks to recent event organisers and participants
Thanks from the Steering Committee to the London and SE Local Network, and in particular Henley Business School (Dr Miriam Marra), for their 12 May seminar focused on women’s leadership in a post pandemic world. Appreciation too to the twenty member business school representatives who joined a thought-provoking discussion, led by Drs Laura Steele and Alec Wersun, on 16 May on the proposals for the future of Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) reporting. More detailed reports on these events will follow in due course.
If you were invited to the SIP workshop and could not attend, remember that you can still contribute to the consultation by completing our survey here. The closing date for survey completion is Wednesday 25th May.
Items for future news updates
· If you have items that might be of interest to our PRME readership, we would be happy to consider including them in these regular news updates. We are also trying to reduce the number of separate mailouts by issuing more regular news roundups like the one above.
· If you would like us to include items in future news updates, please send them to our Secretariat - PRME_UKI@gcu.ac.uk
That’s it for now – best wishes from the UK and Ireland Chapter Steering Committee.
