Achieving gender equality is not just a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. As educators and leaders in responsible management, the PRME UK & Ireland Chapter is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 5, which calls for gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

To further this critical mission, we invite you to join our upcoming online session: Empowering Women: Leadership, Inclusion & Community. This inspiring event will bring together expert voices to discuss how we can collectively champion the rights of women to thrive in all areas of life, free from discrimination, including in the workplace and our educational institutions.

The session will be opened by Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, Chair of the PRME UK & Ireland Chapter, who will provide a brief overview of SDG 5 and its vital relevance to our community's work in responsible management education.

Insights on Transformational Leadership

We will be joined by Dr Suzanne Ross, a Senior Lecturer in Executive Education at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University. Dr Ross leads courses that support women in management and leadership, and in her talk, she will explore what it means to be a transformational leader. She will share valuable insights on the importance of women as agents of change, leading with purpose and authenticity to drive progress across all sectors.

Building an Inclusive Community of Practice

Our second speaker is Dr Tao Jiang, Associate Professor of Marketing Practice at Leeds University Business School. With over two decades of experience in UK higher education, Dr Jiang is an expert in building supportive networks. She will discuss practical strategies for creating inclusive communities of practice that foster women’s development and well-being. Drawing on her experience, she will reflect on how an authentic leadership approach helped transform the Women At Leeds Network into a thriving, inclusive community and introduce the White Rose Network.

Your Voice in the Conversation

The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, providing a fantastic opportunity for you to engage directly with our speakers. This is a space to deepen the conversation, share your own experiences, and explore actionable strategies for taking the gender equality agenda forward at regional, national, and global levels.

This event is for anyone passionate about creating a more equitable future. We look forward to welcoming you to this vital conversation as we work together to empower women and advance gender equality in all our communities.
