This joint PRME Chapter UK & Ireland and PRME Working Group on Responsible Management Education & Emerging Technologies webinar will explore practical approaches for mapping institutional activities against the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The session will highlight several methods that business schools can use to identify, evaluate, and communicate their contributions to the SDGs.
The webinar will cover three main approaches:
First, Andrew Hunt (Plymouth Business School) will examine student- or staff-led SDG audits, drawing on first-hand experience from collaborating with SOS-UK to undertake a structured sustainability review.
Second, Alan Hanna (Queen's Business School) will discuss integrating sustainability-related reporting into existing institutional documents, demonstrating how SDG mapping can be embedded into routine reporting processes.
Third, Costa Manolchev (Exeter University Business School) will explore the use of artificial intelligence to support SDG mapping, focusing on how AI tools can help analyse large volumes of institutional data and identify links between activities and SDG targets.
Together, these approaches aim to provide participants with practical ideas and tools for improving transparency, strengthening sustainability reporting, and enhancing institutional engagement with the SDGs.
