PRME UKI Chapter: News Update - 10th March 2022

News Update – 10 March 2022

Deadlines, dates for your diaries and details of initiatives that may interest you: a news roundup from the PRME Chapter UK and Ireland

Special issue of Sustainability on “Impact of Social Sustainability Orientation and Supply Chain Practices on Operational Performance”.

We have been asked to promote this opportunity to our membership:

Although this special issue focuses on social sustainability in the context of operations and supply chain management, we welcome submissions from researchers in other disciplines and fields studying sustainability related topics. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about this special issue.

The call for papers is available at: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability/special_issues/operational_performance. The deadline for paper submission is 30 November 2022 (the submission system is now open).

PRME Co-ordinator role profiles/job descriptions

As new members join us, we are increasingly asked for examples of the role profiles created for PRME leads/co-ordinators or their equivalents in established member schools. We would like to build up a resource of such examples, to help share good practice. If you would be willing to share any documentation along these lines – with the institution anonymised if you prefer – please forward them to our Secretariat on PRME_UKI@gcu.ac.uk

It will feature an interactive presentation and Q&A session with Caroline Aggestam Pontoppidan, Associate Professor and Academic Director of PRME, and Martiina Srkoc, Head of Section UNGC PRME Secretariat, at Copenhagen Business School.

In addition, there will be an overview of reporting requirements with Alec Wersun, Senior Lecturer and School Lead for the Common Good, Glasgow School for Business and Society. The event will conclude with a ‘PRME SIP Report Clinic’ led by Laura Steele, Director of Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability at Queen’s Management School.

Items for future news updates

If you have items that might be of interest to our PRME readership, we would be happy to consider including them in these regular news updates. We are also trying to reduce the number of separate mailouts by issuing more regular news roundups like the one above. If you would like us to include items in future news updates, please send them to our Secretariat - PRME_UKI@gcu.ac.uk

That’s all for now – best wishes from the UK and Ireland Chapter Steering Committee
