Dr Augusta Evans, University of Bedfordshire
Project: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Shock Advertising in Curbing Misbehaviour in Public Transportation: A Passenger-Centric Perspective.
Winning this funding means a great deal to me both professionally and personally. It allows me to further investigate an issue I feel deeply passionate about—passenger misbehaviour in public transportation—and explore how bold, unconventional strategies like shock advertising can drive meaningful change. I’m especially excited to bring a passenger-centric perspective to this work, ensuring the voices and experiences of everyday commuters In Nigeria and Africa as a whole are at the heart of the solution. This support from PRME UK and Ireland enables me to contribute to safer, more respectful public transport systems and advance research that aligns with socially responsible management.
Dr Nan (Iris) Xue, University of Birmingham
Project: Not Behavioural Habits but Decision-Making Habits: Understanding why Individuals (Dis)continue Pro-Environmental Habits while Travelling.
Winning the PRME Research Seed Fund marks a meaningful milestone in my journey as an early-career researcher. It provides a valuable opportunity to deepen my research into responsible consumer decision-making and contribute to the broader goal of advancing sustainable development. I’m sincerely grateful to the PRME UK & Ireland Chapter for this support, and to my Department and School for their ongoing encouragement.
