AI and Responsible Management Education
Â
In this short provocation, Lucy will explore how management education might move beyond tool-and policy-led responses to responsible AI towards more human-centred approaches to curriculum design. Drawing on ecopedagogical thinking, she will challenge compliance-driven framings of responsibility and invite institutions to consider AI as part of a wider educational ecosystem shaped by values, relationships, and care. The talk offers a reflective, inclusive lens on what it means to teach responsibly with AI in an uncertain and rapidly changing world.
Â
Dr Lucy Gill-Simmen is Associate Dean (Education & Student Experience) for the Faculty of Business and Law at Royal Holloway, University of London. She provides senior academic leadership across curriculum design, assessment, employability, and student experience, with a particular focus on inclusion, belonging, and future-facing education. Her work on responsible and values-led uses of AI in higher education spans institutional strategy, policy development, staff development, and innovative pedagogic practice, and she is recognised for positioning AI as a catalyst for curiosity, creativity, and student agency rather than simple efficiency. More broadly, her scholarship and leadership explore how universities can better prepare students for an uncertain future through narrative, identity, and capability-focused education

About the New PRME Working Group on Responsible Management Education and Emerging TechnologiesÂ
Â
Established in 2026, the new PRME Working Group on Responsible Management Education and Emerging Technologies (RME & ET) seeks to promote ethical, responsible, and sustainable multi-stakeholder dialogue through scholarship, pedagogic practice, and technology-enhanced learning within the context of higher education. Operating at the intersection of academia, industry, and public policy, its scope encompasses the full suite of digital and emerging technologies including, but not limited to, Artificial Intelligence (AI); Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR); robotics; neurotechnology; and the metaverse.
Â
The Working Group is closely aligned with SDG4 Quality Education but its intended scope and impact goes beyond the classroom and aims to also support SDG5 Gender Equality, SDG8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG13 Climate Action. The Working Group on RME and ET has three main objectives and associated workstreams: Education for ET (Policies and Toolkits), Education with ET (Community Building and Partnership), and Education about ET (Research and Scholarship). The presentation will explain the Working Group’s formation and objectives, discuss current and upcoming initiatives, identify opportunities for engagement, and seek input on future activities.

VR Workshop
Â
This workshop shares Westminster Business School's work embedding immersive VR teaching across core curriculum. We explore how VR case studies set in the Global South foster deeper empathy, global citizenship, and sustainability awareness among business students. Our findings reveal that VR significantly enhances empathy, strengthens attentional focus, and heightens awareness of complex sustainability issues. However, implementation requires careful pedagogical design and clear pathways from emotional engagement to actionable change
Â

As Associate Head of College (Education & Students) at Westminster Business School, she leads curriculum innovation and quality enhancement, with particular focus on embedding immersive technologies such as virtual reality, advancing education for sustainability, and fostering student–staff partnerships.
