As London Fashion Week 2026 approaches, conversations about style, creativity and innovation will dominate the headlines. But behind the glamour lies a pressing question:

Can fashion save the world? And why should it?

On Wednesday 18 February 2026, Ravensbourne University London will host an inspiring event that dives deep into this very question. Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas will deliver her inaugural Professorial Lecture, exploring the intersection of sustainable fashion, responsible business, and education for sustainable development.

Why This Matters

Fashion is one of the most influential global industries, shaping culture and identity. Yet, it is also one of the most resource-intensive and environmentally damaging sectors. From carbon emissions and water usage to labour exploitation, the industry’s impact on people and planet cannot be ignored.

Professor Radclyffe-Thomas will share her research on how fashion can become a force for good, highlighting creative solutions from individuals and communities who are challenging the status quo. This lecture will showcase how responsible management education and innovative design thinking can help transform fashion into a driver of positive change aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
