The PRME UK and Ireland Chapter is pleased to share that submissions are now open for track proposals for the 13th Responsible Management Education Research (RMER) Conference, taking place in Lüneburg, Germany. This year's conference invites scholars, practitioners, and members of the global PRME community to explore the timely and compelling theme Reclaim, Resist, Reimagine: Sustainability and the Future of Responsible Management Education.

In a period defined by mounting ecological pressures, deepening social inequality, geopolitical tension, and disruptive technological change, the purpose and direction of management education have never been more important. As sustainability and social responsibility become increasingly contested in political and corporate spheres, the 13th RMER Conference offers an essential space for critical debate, reflection, and collective re-envisioning of the future of business and management education.

A Call to Reclaim, Resist and Reimagine

The conference organisers set out a bold and urgent agenda:

  • Reclaim the core values of sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility that lie at the heart of responsible management education.

  • Resist the societal and political pushback against sustainability, diversity, and social justice, as well as business practices that prioritise short-term gains over long-term wellbeing.

  • Reimagine management education in transformative ways that acknowledge planetary boundaries, societal interdependence, and the moral duties of business and business schools in shaping a fairer future.

For PRME UK and Ireland institutions, this theme resonates strongly. Our community has long championed responsible leadership, innovative pedagogy, and research that supports both societal and ecological flourishing. The 13th RMER Conference provides an invaluable platform to elevate these conversations to an international scale.
