Collaboration opportunity with SPARK, Book launch, PRME funding competition, and Chapter events.

🤝 Collaboration Opportunity with the SPARK Initiative

SPARK, a UN Global Compact initiative, supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and suppliers of larger firms, helping them drive sustainable growth, poverty reduction, and inclusive economic development. The program equips SMEs with resources to enhance their sustainability practices, aligning with global standards.

We are seeking faculty members from the community interested in facilitating a 50-minute session in early December.

The session aims to provide SMEs with:

  • An overview of essential sustainability frameworks, focusing on voluntary standards and regulatory reporting (e.g., the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)).

  • Insights into critical regulatory requirements, such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and sector-specific guidelines relevant to their operations.

If you or a colleague have the relevant expertise, please reply directly to loiola@unglobalcompact.org

PRME Chapter UK & Ireland Innovative Pedagogy Seed Funding Competition

The PRME UK and Ireland Chapter Seed Funding Competition for Developing Innovative Pedagogic Approaches and Teaching Practices in PRME is currently open!

The initiative was developed in recognition of the fact that financial barriers frequently exist that prevent individuals and groups from putting their innovative ideas into practice. In a bid to help address this, awards up to the value of £1,500 are available. There is no set number of awards across the Innovative Pedagogy Seed Funding Competition, but rather a total funding pot has been established.

For more information, please visit: https://www.unprme.org.uk/2024-developing-pedagogy-comp

The closing date for applications is 10th January 2025 at 5pm.

Submissions should be emailed to PRME@bcu.ac.uk. All submissions will be acknowledged.

For any questions related to the competition, please email PRME@bcu.ac.uk
